We offer English as a 3-month intensive for those wishing to improve their IELTS score and then subsequently gain entry into a certificate degree program.
If enrolling in a formal Associate, Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree program, then typical majors will be in English Literature and Arts, or Linguistics.

As an English major you will also have the chance to get involved with the GU English Society. One of the most active student groups, the GU English Society hosts activities such as open mic poetry nights and film screenings throughout the year.
If you are interested in writing you can contribute to the department’s newsletter and our creative arts magazine. As a senior English student you are assigned study carrels and have access to the departmental seminar room and lounge.
